Birth Combs

A$10.00

A comb that helps with the sensations of labour and birth! Amazing! But how?

The comb works via a mixture of the gate control theory and acupressure.

Gate control theory – the brain cannot concentrate on more than one sensation at the same time. The idea is that you redirect the sensations by squeezing the comb and blocking pain signals to the brain.

Acupressure – holding the comb with the teeth pressed inwards to your palm, applies pressure to the Lao gong acupressure point in the hand = the release of anxiety of stimulation of endorphins.
